SmartSnip is specifically designed for STEM students that work with mathematical equations. It allows users to get instant LaTeX code from equations on their screen and seamlessly ask a wide range of cutting edge AI chat models for help.

Absolutely. SmartSnip prioritizes your privacy. When using local processing options, your data never leaves your device. For cloud-based features, your requests are sent to our servers and to the chosen model's servers to get the response but it is never stored or used for any other reason than to generate a response.

SmartSnip uses pix2text as the local OCR model and fetches the ollama models that are downloaded on your computer for the chat functionality. A detailed installation guide is available in the app for both type of models.
